Market Now: Shares of Hindalco, Ashok Leyland soar in volume

The domestic equity market turned rangebound on Wednesday morning with Hindalco (0.79 crore) being the most actively traded security in volume terms on NSE.

It was followed by Ashok Leyland (0.65 crore), ICICI Bank (0.56 crore), Vedanta (0.36 crore), Indian Oil Corp (0.35 crore), PNB (0.33 crore) and BHEL (0.33 crore).

PFC (0.32 crore), DLF (0.31 crore), SBI (0.28 crore), SAIL (0.26 crore), ITC (0.21 crore), Aurobindo Pharm (0.20 crore), Sun Pharma (0.20 crore), NMDC (0.17 crore), Bank of Baroda (0.17 crore), ONGC (0.16 crore), NHPC (0.15 crore), BEL (0.13 crore) and Idea Cellular (0.13 crore) were among other most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange in Wednesday ’s session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 7.85 points down at 9616.7, while BSE Sensex was 14.74 points down at 31144.66.

In the Nifty index, Mahindra & Mahindra (up 4.32 per cent), UltraTech Cement (up 2.74 per cent), Power Grid Corporation of India (up 1.91 per cent), GAIL (India) (up 1.62 per cent), Lupin (up 1.59 per cent), Indian Oil Corporation (up 1.51 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India (up 1.09 per cent), Indiabulls Housing Finance (up 0.93 per cent) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation (up 0.65 per cent) stood among top gainers,

On the other hand, Bharti Infratel (down 2.16 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma (down 1.67 per cent), Vedanta (down 1.57 per cent), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation (down 1.48 per cent), ITC (down 1.14 per cent), Tata Motors (down 0.98 per cent), Infosys (down 0.92 per cent), Axis Bank (down 0.85 per cent), YES Bank (down 0.78 per cent), HCL Technologies (down 0.77 per cent), Tata Steel (down 0.73 per cent), Tata Power Company (down 0.67 per cent) and Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone (down 0.65 per cent) remained top losers of the day.
