BENGALURU: Gurgaon-based edtech firm Great Learning is looking to hire 20-25 people to strengthen its leadership team across several functions as it looks to ride the wave of growth in the online learning space amid the Covid-19 crisis.
The company is scouting for candidates to fill roles such as head of product, principal engineer, and senior software engineer, said Karthik Gopalan, director of people operations at Great Learning. âWe have not been limiting our search to India and are engaging with talent from across the globe,â he told ET. âWe are looking at professionals based in countries like the US and UK, and if onboarded these would be permanent work-from-home positions for them.â
Great Learning is also looking to hire at least 270 people over the next two quarters in domains like technology, product, marketing, sales, automation and AI-related features, and business development, at the junior and mid-management levels.
âDuring the pandemic, the sentiment around learning has remained very strong as people prioritised upskilling even as they stayed at home,â Gopalan said. âOur goal is to keep this momentum going, build an impactful team for existing and new business lines, and hire professionals who can help us move into the next orbit of growth.â
The companyâwhich offers about 30 courses in areas such as data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence and digital marketingâclosed FY20 with a booked revenue of Rs 325 crore. Its learner base has multiplied five times with the launch of Great Learning Academy and Great Learning Corporate Academy earlier this year, Gopalan said.
Great Learning is expected to have 1,000 or more people on its rolls by the end of the year. It has already hired more than 150 entry and mid-level professionals this year and its current strength stands at 650.
